Bobbie D. Turner, 77, of Fort Scott, died Saturday morning, July 18, 2015 at the Medicalodge Nursing Home. He was born September 24, 1937 in Deerfield, Missouri the son of Dale and Lorena Estella (Hood) Turner. He married Myrna Burke February 14, 1957 in Girard, Kansas and she preceded him in death June 13, 2014.
Bob graduated from Nevada High school in 1955 after moving to Fort Scott in 1954. He worked for Montgomery Ward’s Tire & Service for many years until they closed, and in 1983 went to work for WalMart Automotive until he retired. He loved auto racing and doing mechanic work.
Survivors include his son, Brian Turner and wife Pam of Kansas City, Missouri; a sister, Karen Danielson of Bloomington, Indiana; a grandson, Caleb Turner of Kansas City, Missouri; nieces, Mindy Danielson, Carolyn Welch, Beth Snyder, Lisa King, and Brenda Hill; nephews, Andrew Danielson, Gregory Danielson, Jason Sinn; several great-nieces and nephews, and an abundance of friends, including Larry Ballou, Donnie Marsh, and Allen West. He was preceded in death by his wife Myrna of fifty-seven years; a sister, Shirley Sinn, a niece, Janet Grote, and a great-nephew Jordan Snyder.
Following cremation, a Memorial Visitation and Luncheon for all of his friends and family will be from 1:00-3:00 p.m. Saturday August 1, 2015 at the Fort Scott Inn Meeting Room under the direction of the Konantz-Cheney Funeral Home. Burial will be at a later date in the Mapleton Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Medicalodge Activity Fund and left in the care of the Konantz-Cheney Funeral Home, 15 W.
