Wanda Lou Embry, 87, of Fort Scott, died Wednesday evening, April 26, 2017 at the Fort Scott Manor. She was born August 21, 1929 in Fort Scott, Kansas, the daughter of Walter G. and Birdie Lucille (Gruver) Davis. She married Marion William Embry September 25, 1956, in Miami, Oklahoma, and he preceded her in death February 2, 1996.
Wanda is survived by her daughter, Linda Ketchum and spouse Clifford, of Downing, Missouri; her son, Michael Embry and companion Jewel Moore, of Fort Scott; eleven grandchildren, Carrie Orr, of Downing, Missouri, Amy Conner and spouse James, of Redfield, Kansas, Ryan Orr and spouse Micheline of Kahoka, Missouri, Kayla Andino and spouse Junior, of Ottumwa, Iowa, Tracy Clark and spouse Seth of Melcher-Dallas, Iowa, Stephen Ketchum, of Downing, Missouri, Josh Ketchum, also of Downing, Missouri, Tom Embry and spouse Jeania, Kasey Embry, Frankie Isaac and spouse Barry, and Lane Embry, all of Fort Scott, Kansas; and ten great-grandchildren, Nicholas Orr, Dakota Conner, Weston Conner, Hannah Andino, Oliver Andino, Hailey Spencer, Harley Spencer, Everett Embry, Mackenzie Isaac, and Wyatt Isaac. In addition to her husband, she was also preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Mynettia Anne Gannon, and Violet Burdette; and three brothers, Walter J. Davis, Floyd E. Davis, and Paul D. Davis.
Rev. Mike Chipman will conduct funeral services 10:00 a.m. Monday, May 1, 2017, at the Konantz-Cheney Funeral Home with burial following at Memory Gardens of Bourbon County Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Sunday evening, April 30, 2017 from 5:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to Avalon Hospice and left in the care of the Konantz-Cheney Funeral Home, 15 W.
