Catherine Jane Hack, 65, of Fort Scott, died at her home Wednesday afternoon, July 26, 2017, after a battle with cancer. Cathy was born on July 18, 1952 in Kansas City, Missouri to father Edward F. Shelley, Sr. and mother Jane (Shoenhard) Shelley Jacobs.

 

She grew up in a large, loving family with siblings Mary Brown, Edward F. Shelley, Jr. and Milton  Shelley. Cathy married Robert F. Wilson Sr. and to this union they had two sons, they later divorced and then she married Krishna J. Chandra, Sr. and had two sons and they later divorced.

 

Cathy enjoyed spending time with her friends and family. She loved having cookouts, gardening, sewing, playing cards, and having a few beers around her kitchen table.

 

Cathy is survived by her brother Milton Shelley of Raymore, MO and her four sons, Robert F. Wilson, Jr. (wife Tina J. Wilson) Fort Scott, KS, Chuck E. Wilson (wife Jessica L. Hardin) Fort Scott, KS, Krishna J. Chandra Jr (wife Jamie L. Ames) Yates Center, KS, and Corey D. Chandra, Fort Scott, KS;  nine grandchildren, Robert F. Wilson, III (and fiancée Alex Smith), Meliah R. Wilson, Tristan D. Wilson, Treyton B. Wilson, MaKenna Eisenbrandt, Alexa S. Chandra, Cooper D. Wilson, Austyn L. Chandra and Aria J. Chandra; one great-granddaughter, Haidyn N. Wilson. She was preceded in death by both her parents, a sister, Mary Brown, and a brother, Edward F. Shelley, Jr.

 

Cathy requested to be cremated.  A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday August 4, 201,7 at Gunn Park Shelter House #5, beginning at 4:00 p.m.  All friends and family are welcome to attend. The family would especially like to thank Via Christi Hospital and their wonderful staff of nurses, Avalon Hospice, and special Thanks to her wonderful boss and friend, Matt Ida, as well as her very dear friend, Howard Schlichting.  The family requests that in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions be made to Care to Share (The Sharing Bucket). Memorial contributions may be left in the care of the Konantz-Cheney Funeral Home, 15 W. Wall Street, PO Box 309, Fort Scott, KS 66701.
