Emma Jean Allen, 86, of Fort Scott, passed away early Monday morning, May 23, 2016. She was born April 29, 1930 in Fort Smith, Arkansas the daughter of Theodore Roosevelt and Minnie Watson (Williams) Collins. She married Lawrence Roger Allen January 7, 1951 in Fort Scott, Kansas and he preceded her in death August 24, 2015.
Emma Jean worked for many years at Mercy Hospital and Newman Young Clinic. She was a member of the First Church of God at Wall and Broadway.
Emma Jean is survived by her three daughters, Wanda Kucera of Pittsburg, Kansas, Marilyn Leigh of Fort Scott, Kansas, and Dana Allen of Rocky Point, North Carolina; a brother, Richard Collins, of Belle Plain, Kansas; sister-in-law, Alice Collins of Fort Smith, Arkansas; eight grandchildren, Gabriel, Isaac, David, Mariah, Molly, Emily, Danny, and Emma; and ten great-grandchildren. In addition to her husband Lawrence, Emma Jean was preceded in death by her parents, a sister, Maxine McDow, and a brother, Buck Collins.
