Glenda Faye Gage, 65, of Fort Scott died Saturday afternoon, March 4, 2017 at the Guest Home Estates.  She was born September 25, 1951 in Fort Scott, Kansas the daughter of William Charles and Juanita Nadine (West) Monroe, Sr. She married Raymond Chaplin and they later divorced. She married Willard R. Gage, Jr. August 25, 1981 and he preceded her in death June 1, 2004.

Glenda liked to read, crochet, and gardening, but most of all she loved spending time with her grandchildren.

Glenda is survived by her children, Christopher Lee Chaplin and wife Stephanie, Kimberly Kay Chaplin, and Jeffery Ray Chaplin; a sister, Delores Kay Norris of Milo, Missouri; ten grandchildren, and fifteen great-grandchildren. In addition to her husband, Glenda was preceded in death by her parents; a daughter, Sandy Duren; a brother, William Charles Monroe, Jr., and a great-grandson, Hunter Lyon.

Graveside Funeral services for Glenda Gage will be at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, March 9, 2017, at the Fort Scott National Cemetery.  The family will receive friends from 7:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, March 8, 2017 at the Konantz-Cheney Funeral Home.

The family suggests memorial contributions to the Care to Share Ministry, and donations may be sent to, or left in the care of the Konantz-Cheney Funeral Home, 15 W. Wall Street, PO Box 309, Fort Scott, KS 66701. Condolences may be submitted to the online guestbook at konantz-cheney.com.
