Mary Lou Heiser Hardy, 88, of Fort Scott, passed away Monday, June 20, 2016 at her home. She was born November 26, 1927 in Garland, Kansas the daughter of Clarence S. and Fern D. (Boone) Snow. She married Robert G. Heiser November 23, 1949 in Fort Scott, Kansas and he preceded her in death May 25, 1984. She later married William O. Hardy, and he preceded her in death July 23, 2010.
Mary Lou was a member of the First United Methodist Church, and was part of a square dance group. She was a Den Mother for Cub Scouts, and an avid Bridge player, playing with several different groups in both Fort Scott and Pleasanton. She loved gardening, reading, and music, and always remembered her family’s birthdays. She loved spending time with her grand and great-grand kids.
Mary Lou is survived by her children, Sheilah Umphenour and husband Gary, of Pleasanton, Susan Regan and husband Jim, of Fort Scott, Jerry Heiser and wife Marsha, of Prescott, Kansas, and Tim Heiser and wife Terri, also of Fort Scott; a daughter-in-law, Mary Jane Heiser; a brother, Donald Snow of St. Clair, Missouri, fifteen grandchildren, and twenty-seven great-grandchildren. She is also survived by step-children and step-grandchildren who were very good to her. In addition to her husbands, she was also preceded in death by her parents, and a son, Terry Heiser.
Rev. Steve Cole will conduct funeral services at the First United Methodist Church 11:00 a.m. Thursday, June 23, 2016 with burial following at the Evergreen Cemetery under the direction of the Konantz-Cheney Funeral Home. Family and friends will meet for a visitation at 10:00 a.m. prior to services on Thursday morning at the church.
