The community and Jayhawk nation has lost a strong-minded lady. Whether it was the years of teaching and guiding the next generation as a teacher or being a passionate supporter of her university organizations and athletic teams or providing her opinion as "Aunt Ruthie" could only do, she did it with conviction and confidence. So many memories of going to KU football games (particularly Nebraska games), hand-knitted Christmas stockings or other things "autographed" with a REF and a small Jayhawk, times at the lake house, family reunions, celebrating holidays, etc...May everyone find time to reflect on their memories of "Aunt Ruthie" and may they put a smile on your face and warmth in your heart. ROCK CHALK JAYHAWK!!

I have many wonderful memories of Aunt Ruthie and time spent on their farm and at the many family get-togethers. She will be missed. Much love to Aunt Ruthie and all her friends and family that feel her loss.

Definitely a heart-felt time with losing a stern, but fair woman, that I have many fond memories of. It was a pleasure calling her “Aunt Ruthie” throughout my childhood and even as an adult. Prayers to Gene and family, from Jenny and I, on their healing during this time. God bless you all!
