William Stanley “Buddy” Pruitt, 82, resident of Garland, Texas, passed away March 1, 2023. He was born July 26, 1940, in Fort Scott, Kansas, the son of Thomas William “Bill” Pruitt and Lazetta Fae (Ridenour) Pruitt.

Buddy is survived by his two sons, who both reside in Garland, Texas. His oldest son, Richard Thomas Pruitt, is married to Kerry Pruitt. They gave him three grandchildren, Jordan Pruitt, Chase Pruitt and Grayson Pruitt, and a great-grandson, Ashton Pruitt. His youngest son, Troy William Pruitt, gave him four grandchildren, Alisa Pruitt,  April Pruitt, TJ Pruitt and  Angelica Pruitt, and two great-grandchildren, Ethan Pruitt and Phillip Smith. He loved his boys and all his grands! He looked forward to any time he could spend with family – he especially loved sharing his M&M’s and playing some Texas Hold’em with them.

He is also survived by his sister, Fay Farley and her husband Austin, residing in Tacoma, Washington. He loved his niece and nephews, Cari Farley, Mark Farley and Scott Farley, and their children, Christa Farley, Austin J Farley, Lynix Farley and Zach Hubbard.

Buddy has several extended family members who still reside in the Fort Scott area. He always looked forward to the Pruitt family reunions.

Ronnie Pruitt will conduct services at 10:30 a.m. Monday, March 13, 2023, at the Fulton United Methodist Church, 301 E. Main St., Fulton, Kansas. Burial will follow at St. Michael’s Cemetery in Fulton, Kansas. A celebration luncheon will immediately follow burial at the Fulton Methodist Church. Services are under the direction of the Konantz-Cheney Funeral Home. Condolences may be submitted to the online guestbook at konantz-cheney.com.
