Trevor Jacobs will conduct funeral services 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, December 20, 2016 at the Konantz Cheney Funeral Home with burial following at the Mapleton Cemetery. The family will receive friends Monday evening, December 19, 2016 from 6:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home.

Wilma Florence Underwood, 92, formerly of Mapleton, Kansas, died Thursday evening, December 15, 2016 at the Medicalodge Nursing Home.  She was born December 31, 1923 in Mapleton, Kansas, the daughter of George Emerald and Minnie Florence (Cook) Clayton. She married Clifford Underwood May 16, 1942 in Mapleton, Kansas, and he preceded her in death January 20, 1995.

Wilma is survived by her children, Leland Underwood of Fulton, Kansas, Mary Wood of Fort Scott, Kansas, Robert Underwood of Bronson, Kansas, Dale Underwood of Livingston, Texas, Steve Underwood of Fort Scott, Kansas, Patricia Homan of Redfield, Kansas, Paul Underwood of Fort Scott, Peggy Kuns of Xenia, Kansas, and Lori Bower of Fort Scott, Kansas; one brother, Bobby Clayton of Mapleton, Kansas; thirty-three grandchildren, sixty-one great-grandchildren, and ten great-great grandchildren. In addition to her husband Clifford, she was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, John Raymond Clayton; two sisters, Mildred Maxine Farris, and Myrtle Marie Houston; and two grandsons, Benjamin Underwood and Christopher Homan.

Trevor Jacobs will conduct funeral services 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, December 20, 2016 at the Konantz Cheney Funeral Home with burial following at the Mapleton Cemetery. The family will receive friends Monday evening, December 19, 2016 from 6:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the Medicalodge Activity Fund “Bingo Quarters” and left in the care of the Konantz-Cheney Funeral Home, 15 W. Wall Street, PO Box 309, Fort Scott, KS 66701.
