I was privileged to meet "Nanna" through DJ White at the Washateria through Lori and Leroy Walker, my daughter and son-in-law. It was my honor to become acquainted with this special lady. She served her Lord well.

Your smile and greetings at St Johns UMC were so welcoming to all. Alice made a difference in so many childrens' lives through your role as a Sunday school teacher. Memories of the songs, stories, prayers and activities encouraged so many children to learn about God. Rest in peace dear Alice.

Alice was a good and faithful Woman and a dear friend. We knew her and her husband rex for many years. Alice and Rex her husband treated me as a son and We was very proud to call them our parents away from home. The McElmurry's are just good people and will be missed. Thank you Lord for letting us enjoy them while they were here.

Alice was a neighbor for 48 years. I loved seeing her walk around the block and at the store. She was an amazing human being and will be missed.

Alice WOW what can be said! My personal memories begin with her as "Mom" when my own mother was in the hospital.and It was Alice who walked me from where she and Rex (as newlyweds) lived on Hill st. to Eugene Ware school. From there all the Sundays she and I, along with Chuck, accompanied each to the "little church" on Little street. .There I have vivid fantastic memories of her giving me the honor of "helping" her teach the young children. Later in life when I had children of my own she once again became my rock. Alice walked to my apartment for us to go -to the store, visit Loyd & Blanche plus Aunt Mary, go to Liberal to see grandmother, check out all the yard sales, attend church; you see my husband was in Viet Nam and she was my rock. My two children always knew her as the muchly loved Auntie Alice. When my own son died in 2017 she would call me often and talk about he own grief or pity parties as she called those moments; giving me fantastic support in getting on with the grief through our shared belief in God. She was a shinning star who was always there for someone else with coffee and banana bread or one of her infamous Christmas cookie sleighs.
