Mrs. Hartman was my teacher, Mrs. Rosa Hartman. She spoke of her family often. I was in her class in the 1967-68 school year when she had nearly forty students in the room. For the second semester our class was split. The rest of the year we had to listen to Plato/Socrates, etc. while the others still got to hear Mrs. Hartman read Little House on the Prairie. Needless to say the new teacher didn't last after the semester ended. Mrs. Hartman was like a grandma to us. She was a strong influence in my life to become an educator. We exchanged Christmas cards right up to 1998 when my daughter was in the 4th grade. She often wrote of her family. I am sorry for your loss. You are in my thoughts and prayers. Betty Hyatt-Pierson Emporia, Kansas.
