Pastor Eric Going will conduct funeral services 10:00 a.m. Monday, September 26, 2016 at the Parkway Church of God with burial following at the Evergreen Cemetery under the direction of the Konantz-Cheney Funeral Home. The family will receive friends Sunday afternoon September 25, 2016 from 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
Marjorie Elizabeth Budy, 86, of Fort Scott, passed away Thursday morning, September 22, 2016, at Mercy Hospital. She was born November 12, 1929, in Boonville, Missouri, the daughter of Perry Patrick and Florence Kathrine (Rippley) Dedrick. She married Jean Budy June 5, 1954 in Boonville, Missouri, and he preceded her in death September 21, 2013.
Marjorie received an Associate Degree in Nursing and was a Registered Nurse at Mercy Hospital for sixteen years, ten of which were spent working as Head Nurse, finally retiring in July of 1994. Marjorie was a member of the Parkway Church of God, and she volunteered for the Red Cross for ten years.
Survivors include her children, Shaun Budy and wife Debbie of Fort Scott, Jaime Budy and wife Gretchen of Chesapeake, Virginia, Tanjala Eischens and husband Alan of Wasilla, Alaska, and Jalyn Lowery and husband Jon of Fort Scott; a brother, Kenneth Dedrick of Sun City, Arizona; fourteen grandchildren, and fourteen great-grandchildren. In addition to her husband Jean, Marjorie was also preceded in death by her parents, and a sister, Mildred Palmer.
